NEWS AND EVENTS Johnson County Fire District #1 exceeds their goals in raising money for MDA. The 2006 MDA Boot Block was a success for Johnson County Fire District #1 and Gardner Fire Department. Even though donations are still pouring in, its been another record year. The Fire District's goal was $7,000 and to date, they have raised $7,657.19. The money that is being raised is so the children that are part for the program can go to camp. The cost of around each child to go to camp is around $750 per child, that means that 10 children can attend next year because of their efforts! Reasons for the cost is food, renting of the campground, insurance, etc. With one cure already found for one of the muscular diseases, there's always that hope that more can be found.
