Firefighters put out a roof fire at the new Johnson County Corrections Residential Center at New Century AirCenter on January 14. the fire, which wa ignited when workers were drying a roof, caused about $2,000 damage. Responding to the call were Johnson County Fire District 1, the Olathe Fire Department, and the Gardner Department of Public Safety.
